Distributed Antenna System (DAS)

Total Communications supply, install and support Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) for In-Building Coverage (IBC). We are technical and business specialists in Distributed Antenna System design, installation and support, for the healthcare, corporates and manufacturing marketplace.

What is a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) or Mobile Repeater System?

A DAS is a dedicated antenna infrastructure which is distributed throughout a building or poor coverage area to improve the in-building cellular coverage (IBC) or mobile phone signal reception.

Distributed Antenna Systems provide comprehensive mobile reception and connectivity solution across a variety of sites types including carparks, hospitals, aged care facilities, hotels, education, stadia, shopping malls, airports, multi-storey offices, factories and many other sites.

Terms for DAS

There are many modern terms for DAS systems such as Passive DAS, Active DAS, Hybrid DAS, iDAS, oDAS, SISO, mobile repeaters, mobile boosters, carrier signal boosters, 3G/4G/5G signal boosters, mobile phone reception Range Extenders, Carrier Antenna Boosters and many other terms.

Sizing of the DAS to fit the requirement and Carriers

Distributed Antenna System vary in size from a small to large, mainly depending on the number of internal antenna required and of cause the areas that need their mobile signal strengths boosted/repeated.

DAS solutions supplied by Total Communications are multi-carrier solutions and can be shared across Telstra, Optus and Vodafone (individually or collectively).

DAS Solution Boosts Carrier Signals

A DAS solution boosts carrier signals throughout poor signal areas in most hospital, aged care, retail and corporate environments, boosting the 3G, 4G & 5G networking signals by installing in-building coverage antenna integrated to roof mounted antenna systems.

The primary purpose is usually to boost signals into the buildings poor cellular coverage areas to assist with making telephone calls or generating more concurrent access for users, a secondary service is to provide better data & internet access for devices such as modems, EFTPoS and other cellular based systems.
